Happy Chinese New Year 2008
Happy Chinese New Year once again... finally through with all the house visits. This years Chinese New Year ain't that bad for me... I don't get to hear my relatives ranting about my plans for ordination. Perhaps its too late for them since im flying off for my retreat next week. Glad to see most of my cousins for the last time before i go.
Did i mention "most"? To my family, CNY is just an excuse to meet up once a year tradition kinda thing. Some of my relatives got divorced while some of them passed away, so we didn't get in touch with their family. To me, my relatives are alien enough considering just seeing them for a while once a year. Not to mention super alien ones... new life partners of recently divorced relatives. House visits seem shorter and shorter... relationships further and further.
Guess that would be my last CNY celebration as a layperson. Now its my time to get out of the picture as well.
